CC 0310 Agriculture Literacy for Your Day Home

Healthy habits start young. As a day home provider or caregiver, you have the ability to be a positive influence on how children acquire food literacy skills. This session will allow you to explore a wide variety of hands-on learning experiences that will help children form a healthy, holistic relationship with the origins of their food. By learning how food gets from farm to plate children are in a better position to make healthy food choices that will help them reach their fullest potential in life.

Max: 70

Presenter: Nichole Neubauer

Since 2005, Nichole has combined her passion for agriculture and devotion to children to develop the “Growing Minds Agriculture Education Program” an initiative that allows students and teachers to make “our farm their classroom”.  Less than 2% of today’s population are farmers, which means it is now more important than ever to reconnect with the farm, the farmer, our food, and the land that feeds us all. Her mission quite simply is to help others recognize that “agriculture is the fundamental connection to life.”
